PROJECT STORYLINE:
ACT 1: The Set-Up
Worms United Shipping Agency (WUSA) is a long-standing leader in the maritime services industry, known for its expertise in port agency and Suez Canal transit services. As a joint venture with one of France’s most historic maritime organisations, the company has built a reputation for excellence and reliability.
However, after many successful years in operation, WUSA felt it was time for a visual identity refresh that would better reflect their modern-day standing in the competitive maritime services landscape.
Their goal was to project a professional, authoritative image while ensuring their brand would scale effectively across various touch points.
ACT 2: The Challenge
The challenge was to create a brand identity that paid homage to WUSA’s rich history while bringing a more contemporary, dynamic look to the forefront.
It was essential for the new design to showcase the company’s strength and leadership in the maritime industry, without losing sight of the traditional values that had made them so successful. In an industry where credibility and trust are paramount, the new visual identity needed to maintain a sense of reliability and professionalism while also standing out in a crowded market.
The branding had to be flexible enough to work across a variety of mediums, from digital platforms to physical branding at ports and maritime stations.
ACT 3: The Resolution
A modern, sophisticated concept was developed that elegantly merged tradition with innovation. The logo was reimagined to incorporate strong, bold lines, symbolizing the stability and reliability of the company, while refined elements brought in a sleek, updated feel. Nautical symbols were subtly integrated to reflect their maritime expertise, and a powerful color palette was chosen to convey professionalism and trust.
The refreshed visual identity was designed to be scalable across all touch points, ensuring consistent and impactful branding from business cards and digital platforms to large-scale signage at ports and Suez Canal transit locations. The new concept awaits final approval, poised to take Worms United Shipping Agency’s brand into the next phase of its successful journey.

Logo Design | Process
Worms United Shipping Agency (WUSA) is a very well-established and long-standing maritime agency based in Egypt, that manages cargo and passenger vessels transiting the Suez Canal as well as other port operations.
After decades of successful operation, they wanted to update their original logo which was dated and didn’t position itself well in the modern, digital age.
After doing some research, I came up with a short list of ideas that could be incorporated into the design which included:
The Sea / Waves
A Flag (like the original logo)
North & South Suez canal convoys
Cargo Vessels / Hull shape
From this point, I set out to design their new logo with these elements in mind.
